Pearl Identification Technology

Pearl Identification Technology

On June 21, 2013, Fukui Shell Nucleus Factory introduced a new technology to the world with a simple mission in mind - to protect the cultured pearl industry and pearl lovers.  The technology imparts a unique identity to each pearl.  With the Internet-of-Things technologies, each pearl's story can be recorded and shared.  Each pearl can be uniquely identified, track-and-traced, and authenticated.

The patented technology involves a small RFID tag embedded inside a pearl nucleus.  Each RFID tag is uniquely coded with a password that prevents any tempering of the code.  The RFID reader is used to communicate with the RFID tag.
